Dungagali, at a height of 8200 feet above sea level, is situated in the heart of the Galliat Mountains, between Murree and Abbottabad.
The small tourist hamlet is situated about 35 km from Murree and about 5km short of Nathiagali. It has a small bazaar consisting of about 10 shops and 10 hotels. Dungagalii was established by the British over a century ago, due to its fresh water springs, as the main source of water for the cantonment of Murree. The water pipeline laid down, at that time is still is use. It has over time become a favorite walking track, and is know by some to the best walk in these mountains. It is a near level walk and takes about 45 minutes to cover the 4.5km to Ayubia.
